Charles The Great (Charlemagne)
Charles Martel's grandson Charlemagne built an empire reaching from Italy,Germany,and France. He fought the Muslims in spain and the Saxons in the north and the Avars and Slavs in the east for 46 years of his long lasting life,people described him as a war horse. He made a new Rome calld Achinea he built in it a palace school and made the owner of the school Alcuin Of York,Alcuin made a curriculim which included the lessons science,math,music,and astronomy he made scholars copy the bible and latin words and the textbook lasted for 700 years. Before the school was made clergy were sadly ignorant. Charlemagne knew how to read but not write he took lessons from reporters. Charlemagne died at the year 814 his heirs were fighting for nearly 20 years they lost the Treaty Of Verdun. Many monarchs tried to copy what Charles the great did,he had a long lasting legacy.
